The ROOTS of a plant acquire nutrients from the soil to build up the biomass in the plant (growth). The ROOTS also secure the plant to its nourishing community in a symbiotic relationship where both the plant and the surrounding soil and plants benefit.
The LEAVES of a plant harness the free and abundant energy from the sun to fuel the growth of the plant. The LEAVES provide nourishment to the other animals as the plant gets grazed.
In this natural analogy, the plant is the learner, the businessman, the doctor, the teacher, the person...
All of us have roots and leaves and our future ultimately depends on how we grow in both directions:
Upward to the sky, harnessing energy and providing for ourselves and others
Downward into the soil, acquiring nutrients and establishing a firm base with our community.
Nature provides a model for maintaining function and sustained growth for nearly 4 billion years.
Why not acknowledge the fundamental laws of nature and apply them to personal growth and professional (career) development.
